A Nova Scotia singing group has been chosen to peform at the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts in New York City.

Bedford Singers, considered one of Halifax Regional Municipalities most long-standing and accomplished community choirs, has been asked to reprise the work by renowned contemporary Welsh composer Karl Jenkins by Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY).

They will perform at an event on January 18, 2010 offering an opportunity to proudly represent Nova Scotia and Canada.  Recognizing this invitation as an honor and a once-in-a-lifetime event, 22 of the Bedford Singers  choristers will travel to NYC, at their own expense, for four days of rehearsal and preparation.  The singers also have to pay an additional performance fee of $595.00 each, US.  The Bedford singers are hoping businesses in Nova Scotia will step up and help.  If you're interested, visit this website for additional information or email Come to life for more details at novascotialife@gov.ns.ca
