In 1978, the Jost family of Malagash, Cumberland Co. planted their first crop of grapes, less than a decade after immigrating to Nova Scotia from Germany. The Jost Vinyard now encompasses more than 45 acres in Malagash and extends to more than 130 acres across the province under contract to local grape growers.
