4th Annual Symposium on Inclusive Education & Employment
Celebrate the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The theme of this year's event is: ‘Discover the Ability in Disability – Learning and Employing with Confidence.’
On November 30th and December 1st, the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission in partnership with the Disabled Persons Commission and the Collaborative Partnership Network will commemorate this special day with the 4th Annual Symposium on Inclusive Education & Employment.
Be inspired by our keynote speaker, Ms. Margaret Trudeau, and enjoy a delicious three course dinner on Wednesday, November 30th at one of Halifax’s finest hotels, the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront. During dinner, we will also be presenting the Lieutenant Governor’s Persons with Disabilities Employer Partnership Award, highlighting the outstanding initiatives taken by Nova Scotia employers to enable and promote the hiring of persons with disabilities.
Throughout Thursday, December 1st our keynote speaker, Dr. Mark Nagler and our workshop presenters address the participation of persons with disabilities in education and employment with an emphasis on achieving equality with practical action. Learn about emerging opportunities for educators, employers and persons with disabilities in addition to new tools available to help reduce and eliminate barriers.
