New Glasgow, a scenic and charming riverside town, was settled in 1784. According to legend, the town name was chosen because of the resemblance to the City of Glasgow, Scotland. With 9,500 citizens, New Glasgow is a thriving commercial centre that services Pictou County and a wider catchment area throughout northern Nova Scotia.
New Glasgow is known for the generosity of its people, for its diverse cultural mosaic and for the spirit of enterprise, entrepreneurship, and imagination.
