Nova Scotia is where I want to be

I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, having lived in Halifax/Dartmouth as well as Lower Sackville.

My father was in the navy, stationed in the Halifax area from 1959-1986, and upon retirement, moved his family to BC. I have been here ever since and I am always longing to return home to live.

I last visited in 2006, and realized that Nova Scotia is where I want to be and I am planning to be in 2012. My wife, who is from BC, fell in love with Nova Scotia, and is always looking at real estate in the province, is too looking forward to our move.

They say that there is something about Nova Scotia that always brings you home, I truly believe that, it is all I think about from the time I wake up, until I go to bed at night, I long to return. I find myself constantly looking at Youtube videos on Nova Scotia and get very excited when there is a new video.

So I say to Nova Scotia, I will return home to live, and I will not regret leaving BC one bit.

That Dutchman’s Farm is owned and operated by Maja and Willem van den Hoek. The van de Hoek’s came to Canada in 1970 from the Netherlands and started their lives in British Columbia, but soon found their way to Nova Scotia and Upper Economy - home to a thriving cheese-making business. The cheese Willem produces is a "Farmstead Gouda - it is a true heritage cheese that has its roots in the Netherlands, reaching down into the early middle ages. “That Dutchman's Farm” is a cottage industry which employs the whole family. Over the years there’s been a great deal of work completed at That Dutchman’s Farm - there’s a cafe, a gift shop, an extensive network of walking trials and waterways connecting gardens and ponds. There is something for everyone of all ages.
